Landlord and Tenant
This is a very detailed subject and the law is largely governed by Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. But case law, precedent and modern day practice also come into play. There may be some surprises for the average client who has had little or no experience of business tenancies. In particular, clients will need to know if a lease is (or is to be) inside or outside the LTA 1954 and the implications of that.
Legal jargon?
There is a growing trend to write legal documents in plain English and not to use “jargon”. We strive to draft documents that all our clients can understand. We will always endeavour to use wording so that the reader is left in no doubt as to what is intended.
