We provide construction service advice to a broad range of clients including land owners, developers, housebuilders, Registered Providers of social housing, investors, contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants with respect to property development, regeneration and infrastructure projects.

We understand that the procuring of construction projects can be complex. We are adept at balancing various stakeholders’ interests such as lenders, purchasers, tenants, and investors and can provide cost effective advice to all stakeholders throughout the construction phase of a development.

Our partners and senior associate lawyers will advise you on drafting and negotiating variations to JCT design and build contracts, prepare and negotiate a full suite of consultant appointments and their terms of engagement for professional advisers including architects, engineers and other specialists required to deliver your construction project on time and within budget. We will also draft and negotiate collateral warranties to underpin the investment in our clients’ projects particularly where third party funding is involved.

We provide a multi-disciplinary service in conjunction with our property development team to drive forward all types of development projects through site assembly, planning, construction, and forward funding to site disposal and recovery of capital investment. We are committed to providing construction services to deal with the following issues:

  • Drafting and negotiating construction contracts using industry standard forms or bespoke contracts depending on the nature and extent of your construction project
  • Providing advice on procurement processes including OJEU public sector procurement
  • Preparing or reviewing construction documentation in tender packs
  • Advising clients as to security packages for construction works including collateral warranties, parent company guarantees and financial or insurance backed performance bonds

We have extensive experience in dispute resolution including ADR to help competing stakeholders resolve issues and to get construction projects back on track. However, we recognise that this does not always work.

Our partner led litigation team has a great deal of experience in contentious work relating to consultant fee arrangements and professional negligence claims for defects in design or other breaches of professional duty and can provide cost effective support whether to bring or to defend claims against contractors and consultants

Come talk to us about your construction project.
