Since the start of the war in Ukraine we have been supporting the people of Ukraine by donating and coordinating donations of food, clothing and medical supplies. One of our Partners, Jonathan Jennings, has led our initiative, making regular deliveries to the Luton branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain for onward transfer to Ukraine. Not only did Jonathan head up our efforts , but he also took it upon himself to purchase supplies from his own pocket, assisted refugees with the opening of bank accounts and also took some refugees here shopping for food and clothing, which again he paid for.
Staff, family and friends have provided donations which have allowed us to provide support . We would also like to thank , in particular, the staff of Grand Union Housing Group for their donations.
When we asked Jonathan what led him to support the people of Ukraine his response was that:-
“It is the right and humane thing to do in this situation. The people of Ukraine needed help and I was not prepared to simply stand back and do nothing. I hope that my efforts this year have at least made a small but positive difference”.
